V5 Drafting - How to transfer element from view to view

V5 Drafting - How to transfer element from view to view

(OP)
Hello,

Does anyone know how to transfer an draw element from one view to another view, while keeping the same position?  The trick is you can't just do a "Copy/Paste" because it moves the element into the body position of the recieving view.  I may be missing something with the copy/paste, but it doesn't seem to be the answer.

stumped...

RE: V5 Drafting - How to transfer element from view to view

The posisition is relative to the global coordinates of the view.
Was the view you are trying to paste into created from a part or product?

Try isolating the geometry you want to copy and paste first.

This is really a loaded question not knowing how you are setting up your drawings to start with.

RE: V5 Drafting - How to transfer element from view to view

I've had the same problem.  It was easy in V4, you could just use Auxview_Transfer.  I've not yet found a way to do it in V5.

To clarify the problem:  if you are drawing lines or placing UNASSOCIATED text in a view and that view is not Active, then they will be placed in the view that is Active.  It would be nice to beable to transfer them into the correct view whilst keeping the same position on the screen.
