Iges files from Pro-E

Iges files from Pro-E

My customer has sent me an iges file and I am having a problem bringing it into NX. This part is kind of a cylinder in shape. There are radii that go around the outside of the part. Instead of these radii just blending the OD with the the top and bottom of this cylinder, it is a torus setting at the intersection.

Are there any settings I can change on my end for a solution to this?

You might ask why I don't delete the torus and add a radius. Well the part is not that simple, but for this question I wanted to put it in simple form.

Thanks,
Dave

Go back to the customer and request a STEP file.

If they are on Wildfire, request a Parasolid file.

They are on wildfire, btu they say they cannot export to parasolid.

RE: Iges files from Pro-E

Ben is right... IGES from ProE is probably the most error prone translation method possible into UG. If you have no other choice, you will have to use the varius Face editing tools (Edit--> Face in the menu - no toolbar access). The torus you see is an untrimmed surface, that you will have to trim and do other operations to before it is any use to you. then don't forget to sew the surfaces.

The export to Parasolid requires a hidden config.pro setting.
