assembly question

assembly question

assembly question

(OP)
Being in the industry I am now in designing bikes I have a question regarding assembly.

I have assembled 3 sub-assy to create a simple single pivot mountain bike. So now in the assy tree all the components are "defined" now when I remove the shock the swing are rotates around my specified pivot (with the move part command) but once I add the shock the swing arm does not rotate. Keep in mind I have supressed one of the mates so that the shock moves in and out but when I am in the main assy nothing moves, now another dilema is that the shock moves in and out when I am in the modify sub assy command but once I go back to the main assy the shock does not move. SO now onto my dilema... when I have the coplete assy on the screen and I try to move the rear swing arm I get an error message saying that I cannot due to part being fully defined? what am I doing wrong? I want to check for collision as well..... what to do?

RE: assembly question

Right click your shock (in top-level assy), Component Properties, and make sure it is set to "flexible".  Refer to SW Help for further info.
