Layer Manager

Layer Manager

Layer Manager

(OP)
I have 2002 acad. I've been pittering with the layer states option for a while. I want to EXPORT some layer states to use in other drawings. But, so far, these layer states things are only working in model space, affecting only the model space layer setups. I need a state that works vis "vplayer" style. In other words, I want to set my viewport up, then click inside it and import a layer state for that view only.

What am I missing? I've tried both the express tools and the generic layer states methods.

thanks in advance.

RE: Layer Manager

SouthernDrafter,

I think You can use "_lman" from the ETools.
You have to save the settings inside the current viewport-> export *.lay-> new dwg-> new vport-> import the *.lay-> click inside the vport-> restore the layersettings

Thanks for the reply. I finally figured out a viable way to do the job. I just saved off my last job as a template file, leaving borders in place and other commonalities. I found that when I leave the viewports intact, they retain the vplayer info. I just restretch them over my new layout and VOILA!

Works like a champ!
