Accelerated life test for lights

Accelerated life test for lights

(OP)
Hi,

I'm looking for ways to do accelerated life tests for different types of lighting (mainly Christmas lights).
How can I do this?

cheers,

GM

RE: Accelerated life test for lights

Run them at a higher voltage.  It is not a linear relationship though and dependent entirely upon the lamp design, (filament diameter, number of coils etc.) and quality of the power supply operating them.  You may have to do a normal life test concurrently to maintain a baseline relationship.

A higher ambient tempeature like a higher voltage can be utilized to accelerate the life test.
