Changing or deleting fillets on imported model

Changing or deleting fillets on imported model

Changing or deleting fillets on imported model

(OP)
I've got an imported Unigraphics parasolid model (.x_t), that has fillets. I have to change the fillets from .375 to .188, or delete them and re-fillet. When I try to delete them it won't let me because it's
an imported model, Is there any way to edit these fillets, delete or modify them? Help

RE: Changing or deleting fillets on imported model

No they are part of the single solid body. If you had Feature works you might be able to get FW to recognize  the fillets. Whether you would still be able to do much with them I'm not totally sure about.

RE: Changing or deleting fillets on imported model

If you have the Feature Works add-in, use it to recognize the fillet (& whatever else you can) then edit  it to what you need.

If you don't have the add-in, do a Revolve cut to remove the parasolid fillet then Fillet the newly created edge.

Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film.

RE: Changing or deleting fillets on imported model

Have you tried using Delete Face (menu picks "Insert --> Face --> Delete") to remove the fillets?

Make a copy of the model so you can go back and check the original fillet faces after they are deleted.

RE: Changing or deleting fillets on imported model

If the new fillet had a bigger radius than the original, you could perform a face fillet (this is not a fillet modification but a new feature on the imported solid). But I suppose that this don't work with radius lesser than the original. Can you import the solid without fillets?
