sketch driven pattern-place holes equi-dist along a closed sketch
(OP)
I have a closed sketch, made of 8 segments-4 lines, and 4 radius'(radius' are tangent to lines)-aka "a rectangle with filleted corners". I want to use the closed sketch as the centerline of a pattern of holes, where the centers of holes are equally spaced from each other. I'm not having any luck with sketch driven pattern. It seems to only select 1 of the path segments for the path.

Then I tried the curve driven pattern. (see below for parameters.
I get a curvepattern in the list, but no corresponding geometry ( only original hole-cut extrude2) What secret am I missing?
direct 1=compcurve1
#=5
equal spc is checked
curve method:
trans curve=filled
offset=empty
tangent=filled
slign=empty
feature to pattern=cut-extrude2
faces to pattern=empty
Nothing

What SP are you on? I'm on 3.0
While editing/moving things around, mine went to only one instance once. But I can not make it happen again. Try deleting the pattern and re-create it.

It does have a fixed SPR (# 192434) "Curve driven pattern will not consistently generate in SolidWorks 2003 SP5.0. Pattern may generate after several forced rebuilds."
If you have a subscription, download 5.1
