PanelView Plus to Mit. FX Series

PanelView Plus to Mit. FX Series

(OP)
I was wondering if anyone has attempted to connect one of the new AB PanelView Plus HMIs to a Mitsubishi FX Series PLC. I am trying to figure out a cable solution, or if I need to make up my own adaptor. The PV+ has a 9-pin RS-232 connector and the FX has a 8-pin mini-DIN round programming port.

BTW, this wasn't my idea, it was a customer spec.

RE: PanelView Plus to Mit. FX Series

The FX programming port is RS-422 so if you are communicating via RS-232, you will need a converter.  I would bet that you could purchase the FX programming cable (which has the converter built-in) and hook it to the PV+.

Judjing by the HMI brand, this is not a budget project.
If so, I agree with Rdub.
But it may be possible to try a custom-made pin-to-pin cable. First time you may spend long enoygh time with it.
I am using it for Aromat GT-10 touchscreen which is also RS-232.
