how to make the user toolbars dockable

how to make the user toolbars dockable

(OP)
I would like to make the user tool bars dockable in UG, any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: how to make the user toolbars dockable

I have not been able to make it set where I want it. It always moves to upper row and when this happens some other tool bars actually move off the screen and I can not see them. Is this the problem u are having too?
Any help is appreciated.
thank you

RE: how to make the user toolbars dockable

Toolbars can be docked at the top, bottom, left or right side of the screen.  Prior to docking, you may resize them to be any rectangular shape you desire.

Docking can be a bit tricky.  Sometimes you need to drop the toolbar to be docked at the upper right hand end of an existing docked toolbar BEFORE it will snap into the desired row.  Other times, you need to drop the toolbar at the lower right hand end.

If your existing docked toolbars are pushed off screen, then you need to dock the toolbar in a second row by dropping the toolbar above or below the existing docked toolbars.

I hope this helps.

I have not been able to dock it anywhere.  It doesn't have the x at the the top right corner to close it either. in one of the .utb files it states to make it dockable set options to toolbar, and am not sure what that means. (not sure at moment that .utb is the right extension, but the file is under the ugsample directory). Any help would be useful.

What version of UG and what platform are you using. UGNX on Windows uses .tbr files and they dock fine...

RE: how to make the user toolbars dockable

"User Tool" aren't dockable AFAIK.

You need to make a toolbar with an *.tbr extension.

Copy one of those in the UGII\menu folder and edit to see what the format is.

I used to use the "user tool bar" a long time ago (v16)
but learned how to create the tool bar *.tbr from forums such as this.

This is what I founf on UGNX documentation. I did a search for "user tool" and its on the gateway location

"The User Tools toolbars are no longer dockable."
