2002-2004 xref problems

(OP)
I am currently doing a job for a customer that incorporates some parts that I have done a year ago in 2002 format. Since then i have upgraed to 2004 now when i xref drawing in starts lots of problems. I am now getting lots of modeling errors and some times the xref dissapear. Is there a discrepency x refing 2002 files into 2004.

RE: 2002-2004 xref problems

We had a similar problem here in the past when we upgraded to 2000 from version 14, you might want to try to open the xref's in 2004, and check how they look as a regular dwg. Also check to see that the layers and text styles are supported by 2004. You might also want to make sure to check that the xrefs are drawn in the proper axis. If they look ok in 2004 just resave them as 2004.
       Hope this helps.

I've been talking about doing that but my managers etc don't want to waste the extra time and money. I'll keeep picking away at it. Hopefully it's a file problem rather than a compatibility type problem....oh well
