What is 'SOURCE' overcurrent device?

What is 'SOURCE' overcurrent device?

What is 'SOURCE' overcurrent device?

(OP)
Hello everybody

A overcurrent device is said to be of type 'SOURCE'?What does it mean.OCR,fuse, sectionalizer are some of the devices included in the list of OC devices.

What's the function of 'SOURCE'?Thanks

RE: What is 'SOURCE' overcurrent device?

Suggestion: The Source can be modified to Source-side overcurrent device, e.g. from the transformer primary to the source (or system). Visit

etc. for more info

RE: What is 'SOURCE' overcurrent device?

In what context is the type 'SOURCE' used?  I would think that it references the location of the device instead of a type of device.  As jbartos said, it would refer to a device on the source side.
