FUEL TANK REGULATIONS

FUEL TANK REGULATIONS

FUEL TANK REGULATIONS

(OP)
I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT IF THERE IS A MAXIMUM AMOUNT (IN GALLONS) OF FUEL THAT A PASSENGER VEHICLE CAN CARRY, WITHOUT SPECIAL LICENSING? ANY INFO WOULD BE OF GREAT HELP

RE: FUEL TANK REGULATIONS

MIKERSR,

SAE does not publish regulations, but standards. You may wish to search for SAE standards (check out the FAQ Where can I get SAE standards from? [FAQ14-803]) or through the US's Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) (check out the FAQ FMVSS Specifications [FAQ108-817]).

RE: FUEL TANK REGULATIONS

Check with Federal Dept of Transportation regulations.  They have all sorts of marking requirements and maximums listed.
