hello engineers,

       can anyone suggest me a website or a book which give a simple idea about compressors and its type and how it is protected?
   and i want to know the role of pressure switchs and diffrential control and how it act

Danfoss, Try the, "Compressed Air & Gas Handbook" by the Compressed Air & Gas Institute, publisher Prentice Hall.

You can use a pressure switch on centrifugal compressors to insure that the compressor discharge pressure does not exceed the piping MAWP.  However, you have to use a PSV on recip compressors.

Differential pressure is associated with surge control on centrifugal compressors and is a subject too broad to be discussed here.
