We are in the manufacturing of electronic items and spatter found after soldering is causing problems in the product. It would be nice to know if any process or change of consumable will help avoid the solder spatter. The present method followed is hand soldering with 60/40 alloy

I think you need to describe your application in more detail.  I am going to assume that wave soldering is out of the question.
