(OP)
I´m designing a mechanical piece used to induce the movemente in a spooler. This piece has sombre steel plates that area welded to a main one, I would like to know which equations shiold i use in order to estimate the lenght of the welding, according to the loads that are present (torque)

RE: equations needed

If you need to design weldments, and figure out the required length of welds, it would be hard to do better than getting "Design of weldments" or "Design of Welded Structures" from Lincoln Electric, by Omer Blodgett.  They have all the info you need and are dirt cheap for a good book like that.
