Whole Rock Chemical Analysis
Whole Rock Chemical Analysis
(OP)
I am on project that requires a salt scaling test if the rock we are using more than 80% silious content.I carried out a whole rock chemical analysis which found that the rock had 65%SiO.Was I wrong in using this test.

RE: Whole Rock Chemical Analysis
S or of the equivalent SO2 ? The 65% SO2 may correspond to
significantly more silicate .

How do you define the "siliceous" or "silicate rock"?
There is some wt. difference between e.g. Mg or Ba
silicates.
The analysis had found Si in the amount equivalent to
65% SiO2. You were asking if you were wrong to use
this test but you haven't preciselly define the object of the test.
