Cutting Sections

(OP)
Is it possible to cut a section through surfaces?

Paul.

RE: Cutting Sections

Not in a drawing. It has to be a solid before you can do that. If your trying to use the Section tool in a part with surfaces... again no you can't, it has to be a solid.

To Section a surface in a part you will have to add a surface that cuts through the part like you want it. Then do a trim. Then hide the new surface.

RE: Cutting Sections

Another method is to add a plane where you want the section to be located and select "Create A Sketch Curve Along An Intersection Of A Plane".  This icon can be found by right-mouse clicking in the grey toolbar area then select Customize, Commands, Sketch.

In the drawing, you can hide the surface bodies in the view you want to show just the section.
