Custom view in draft can't keep my parts activated?

Custom view in draft can't keep my parts activated?

Custom view in draft can't keep my parts activated?

(OP)
I am using SE V15 update 2 and I want to use the custom viewer to make custom view of an assembly in the draft. So I want to align my view with a corresponding face of a part in my assembly, but I can't select the face probably because the part is inactive. Then I go back to my assembly and activate all the parts but When I go in the custom viewer I think he disactivate all the parts probably for performance reason so then I still can't select the face. So there's must be an options for this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Patrick

RE: Custom view in draft can't keep my parts activated?

Hi,

It's not possible. Parts are inactivated in that window and cannot be activated (as it is now; there is an ER requesting that option to be added though). The work-around is to use Look at face in the assembly environment and then create a named view. You will be able to use that named view as one of the orientations when in the drawing view wizard.

Ok thanks, but then why do the put the look at face command in that window if it doesn't work, is it for single parts only?
