ABB circuit breaker gear failure

ABB circuit breaker gear failure

ABB circuit breaker gear failure

(OP)
Hi Friends.

I have caterpillar 3516G gas engines 900kw, with ABB sace motorised ACB. Recently i m facing problem of its motor gear breakage. Generators are only 3 years old. Its a plastic gear mounted in side the motor unit and we had to replace complete motor assembly due this small grar. the broken gear looks to be very brittle and broke into pieces. If any one have the same expierience so that i would be in better positon to deal with ABB. Thanks for any response.

RE: ABB circuit breaker gear failure

This might be a gross oversimplification, but if there is enough of the damaged gear remaining, could you sidestep ABB and have several of a metal version machined?
