AIRE-FLO AC UNITS

AIRE-FLO AC UNITS

AIRE-FLO AC UNITS

(OP)
A contractor insists on intalling AIR-FLO units.
I've never heard about this brand before.
My first reaction: junk.
Does anyone have any experience with the quality of AIR-FLOW 10 SEER AC units, AIR-FLOW 90 Gas Furnaces?

Thanks

RE: AIRE-FLO AC UNITS

Well, for most small A/C units you can get your own logo/company stamped on the outside, and have the same parts as everyone else on the inside.  Have the contractor give you extensive cut-sheets, or tell him no way.  You're the engineer, you have the control of what gets installed no matter how many temper-tantrums the contractor throws.  If you don't like it find an aspect of it that doesn't meet what you want.  If the contractor can't get you the cut-sheets, refuse to OK it.  And I like the excuses contractors come up with, be just as creative in your replies.
But if it works, it works.  No need to have a knock-down, drag-out fight over something that says AIR-FLOW on the front when all of the components are just as good as what you spec'ed.

RE: AIRE-FLO AC UNITS

Forgot to mention I have never heard of "AIR-FLOW" units.

RE: AIRE-FLO AC UNITS

Pavlik,
if you are talking about the Airflow CCV cabinet units, then yes, I do know about it, and the most important thing is that are a reliable units. I'm using it in some computer rooms in a redundant configuration, one in line and one stand-by, with no ducts applied and under-floor discharging, and the inside Baldor AC inductive motors ain't so bad.
Any details?
Regards.

RE: AIRE-FLO AC UNITS

Aire-Flo is manufactured by Ducane.  Ducane is owned by Lennox International.  Aire-Flo is the label sold through the Lennox Industries warehouses.
