Safety Sound measurements

(OP)
Does anyone use the Radio Shack sound pressure meters for general noise surveys at their work sites?

RE: Safety Sound measurements

Bought one, but then returned it. Couldn't get a calibrated unit.. OSHA requires calibration before and after the survey. It might be useable for watching trends, but not for hard documentation.
Try speaking to your insurance underwriter, many times they will perform sound surveys, since it helps reduce claims.
Eventually, we got the contractor who does our hearing tests to perform the survey, for less than the price of a Radio-Shack.
