Packaging of sodium bisulfite containing products.

Hi

I am wondering how to prevent the oxidation of product after packaging.  We put a 40% solution of sodium bisulfite(mixed with water 60%) into HDPE pails(5 gallon) and seal them.  The pails then collapse inward therefore disorting the pails.  Can we do something different to prevent this?  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

GEOLOR

RE: Packaging of sodium bisulfite containing products.

Most of the bisulfite I'm familiar with was packaged as a powder in heavy plastic or plastic lined steel pails.

Are you packaging the product too hot?

Are you leaving too much head above the liquid?

Try a couple of pails with N2 instead of Air.
