Missing BOM balloon....

Missing BOM balloon....

Missing BOM balloon....

(OP)
I have an exploded drawing view with BOM balloons added. The problem is that there is one particular part whose balloon refuses to appear, even when you show all balloons.

does anyone have any idea why this is and how to srt it?

Thanks

Jeff

RE: Missing BOM balloon....

What version of ProE are you running?

If it is Wildfire, and your component is a flexible component, this is a known issue with flexible components.

RE: Missing BOM balloon....

Hi JDT,

I think I have seen your problem before.  You have in your assembly 2 parts from the same family table.  Inside your family table these parts have the same description and or part # what every you drawing BOM sorts parts by.  In my case the parts are sorted by description then part #.  When I assemble a cable tie that has the same description and part # but a different ID, the balloons will not show up on the drawing.  To see if I am correct, go to your assembly and change the part in question to be the same family table member.  I have also had the same problem when someone create a bulk item of part because they were too lazy to assemble the real part, the problem was there were two different parts with the same part # and description in the same assembly.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your replies guys. I think you are right Arlin, the offending parts are flexible. Do you know if this is going to be sorted by PTC. It probably will be in Wildfire2, but this poses a slight problem. Our suppliers have only just changed to Wildfire, so asking them to change to another versoin will be difficult. Sorry, rant over now.

Cheers guys

Jeff
