MDF & Plywood Shelving - Stress Analysis
MDF & Plywood Shelving - Stress Analysis
(OP)
Hello, I was wondering if someone here could help me out.
I'm looking to analyze MDF and plywood shelving spanning the load beams in our warehouse racking. I can calculate the simply supported case (two edges supported). However, I was wondering if someone can advise me how to calculate a scenario of 4 sides being supported (i.e. cross braces added between the load beams). Basically, I need to figure out what interval we need to place these cross braces at.
If anyone has information on the E modulus, poisson ratio, etc. of both MDF and plywood I'd appreciate if you could post it here.
Thanks in advance.

RE: MDF & Plywood Shelving - Stress Analysis
The spacing is dependent on the span, plywood thickness, and loadig. for the physical prop:
See ANSI/A208.2 (2002), Standard for Medium Density Fiberboard. Depending on species and binders (interior or exterior glues),
