Line colours in drawings

Line colours in drawings

Line colours in drawings

Is there a way of colouring the lines in a drawing so that they are the same as the model? I need to show a standard 3 view 2D drawing, but the assembly drawing is all one colour. I don't want to show it as a solid.

Paul.

RE: Line colours in drawings

You can change component colors in an assembly drawing.  In the model tree in an assembly drawing, expand an assembly so you can see the components.  Right-click a component icon, and select "Component Line Font...".  Uncheck "Use Defaults" and select a layer to place the component on.  The component will take on the color of that layer.

RE: Line colours in drawings

I think the simplest (manual) way would be to place the parts on different layers & assign the required colours to those layers.
Reading between the lines, you're probably looking for an automatic solution, right? Maybe one of the forums Macro/VB/API gurus may be able to help.

The Tick,
You've saved my bacon!!!!
I am relatively new to SW.

CorBlimeyLimey,
Having this automated would be cool, but I am a happy bunny being able to do it manually (sounds a bit rude) for the moment.

Cheers guys,
Paul.
