Data Acquisition

(OP)
I have measure instrument  with LPT port for conecting HP printer series 600. I want to receive data on PC, not in the printer (PC are instaled in machine – near the measure instrument). These instrument are instaled in production line in full wood dust – powder atmosphere. On the PC I have free parallel and USB port. I need driver for capture data from LPT port from instrument to PC.

If you can help me, please send me informations.

Thank You,

rock

RE: Data Acquisition

Is the port of the instrument parallel or series?
If series, what is the set-up data ( baud-r, parity, # of bits, start/stop )

data rate? Can the PC be operated in DOS ? (I don't do WINDOWS)

Hi!

thank you for response.
Instrument have one parallel port and operating sistem on the PC is windows 98 SE. PC can work in DOS only in command promth window.

RE: Data Acquisition

Do you have the data sheet and spec's of the instrument?
The PC should be outside of the dusty area and connected with cable to the instrument.

It may need interface. Can you E-mail the data sheet or
the link to the WEB site?
