Compensated Staturated Steam Flow

Compensated Staturated Steam Flow

Compensated Staturated Steam Flow

(OP)
I need help with the equation to compensate saturated mass steam flow using the steam pressure.  I think the equation is:
W=K*sqrt(dp*Vd/Vf)

W=Comp. Mass Flow
K= constant
dp= Diff. Press Signal inwc
Vd=Specific Vol. @ design cond. from steam table
Vf=Specific Vol. @ flow pressure from steam table.
Is there a better equation or am I missing something.

RE: Compensated Staturated Steam Flow

I would expand your constant K into a product of a constant C that involves properties of a restriction where you measure delta P (may be an orifice or venturi  or any other restriction preferably with known flow coefficient), a term A that includes the cross section area of the pipe and usually  there is a product of 2*deltaP under the sqrt.Then you will get
W=C*A*sqrt(2*deltaP*Vd/Vf),
but there is nothing wrong if you icluded everything into K.

RE: Compensated Staturated Steam Flow

many have found that correction of saturated steam as a function of temperature (instead of pressure) is less noisy
