PDM/Works Error When Changing Lifecycle
PDM/Works Error When Changing Lifecycle
(OP)
I'm testing PDM/Works and have encountered a problem moving from updating a primary rev number either by checking in or by bumping the rev.
primary rev scheme is range "A-Z"
secondary rev scheme is range "01 to 99"
Sequential revisioning disabled
Lifecycle enabled
Lifecycle status list is "In Design" and "Released"
"In Design" allows only secondary rev level check ins
"Released" allows only primary rev level check ins
I'm able to update lifecycle status for a document from "In Design" to "Released". However, when I check in the doc (attempting to increment the primary rev level), I get error 210. If I instead bump the rev (still attempting to increment the primary rev level), I get error 6.
If I set the lifecycle status back to "In Design", I'm able to both check in and bump the rev (incrementing the secondary rev level) without error.
I've restarted the Vault service to no avail.

Solution is to set lifecycle "Released" to allow changes to BOTH primary and secondary rev schemes...because in order to change from rev A04 to B, both schemes are changing.
When bumping to a new release (after being in Development), dialog box will default the new rev code to A05 (a new Development rev). One must specify rev level as new letter (Release) code from pull-down list.
