Modelling Thermal Shock

Modelling Thermal Shock

Modelling Thermal Shock

(OP)
I'm having problems with breakage of alumina tubing in higher temperature tube furnaces.  Does anyone know of a relatively easy-to-use computer model, preferably freeware, that I can use to model thermal stresses in the tubes?  I want to come up with a graded insulation design to minimize shock but also minimize heat losses so a 3d model would be preferable.  Thanks.

RE: Modelling Thermal Shock

Sorry, can't help you but I would like to find the same.   Where have you tried?

Can't help with a provider of software but if you contact Simon Stedman on simon.stedman@ceram.com he will be able to help you model the problem
