Light Gage Shear/Moment Connection

I have a Cee channel (16ga) that I need to develope a splice to be able to handle the moment and shear allowed for the member. I plan on designing the web plate to handle the shear, and the flange to handle the moment.  How do I go about designing the plates and connections to withstand these forces?  I've looked in AISC and the Light Gage manual to no avail.  Thanks ahead of time for your help.

RE: Light Gage Shear/Moment Connection

The AISI Specification would have the basic allowables for fasteners, etc.  Deciding on moment arms, actual shears in connector elements, etc. will be fun.
