Hi,
Can anyone recommend good books that they have used for designing IM parts and or designing assembly features on IM parts?

Thanks in advance,

JW

RE: Injection Moulding - Books

Hanser publish a large range of books, including:-

Designing With Plastics, by GW Ehrenstein and G Erhard, ISBN 3-446-14080-8 Hanser. This is a basic book at lower cost.

How to Make Injection Molds by Menges and Mohren, ISBN 3-446-13666-5 Hanser and ISBN 0-19-520744-0 Oxford University Press. This is an excellent and comprehensive text on mould design and construction. It is considered by some to be "the Bible" on mould design.

Plastic Part Design for Injection Molding, by Robert A Malloy, ISBN 1-56990-129-5 Hanser/Gardner Publications and ISBN 3-446-15956-8 Carl Hanser Verlag. This is a reasonably comprehensive text.

Of course, many high profile raw materials companies such as GE, DuPont, Bayer, BASF, Ato-Fina, Hoechst, Polyplastics, Mitsui, Mitsubishi, Asahi Solutia, DSM, Celenese, and many more produce very good data. Often it is the older publications that might be a bit harder to obtain that contain the best info, as the modern marketing Gurus tend to think that detailed complex technical data scares prospects off as they think it is to difficult.

I am not sure of the current names of a few of the companies listed as large chemical companies merge and change names at a rate I cannot keep up with.
