offshore oil and gas
(OP)
Dear members
I am on the look out for some information and links related to the following:
1) How oil and gas are formed at offshore
2) How oil and gas fields are identified and tapped? what are the techniques ( like seismology etc)
3) typical process flow diagram for an oil and gas offshore platform
Any related links or articles will be highly appreciated
Regards
SK

RE: offshore oil and gas
Angus Mather, "Offshore Engineering - An Introduction", Published by Witherby & Company LTD, ISBN 1 85609 078 7, (1995).
Your first two items are described briefly, the third item is described in some depth.
RE: offshore oil and gas
Visit the oil company web sites. Many provide a range of useful educational material. Otherwise, write and ask them. This will give you a wide range of material of complexity covering school education of all ages, and up.
Also, visit Schlumberger. They produce a nice multi-media presentation of formation, exploration etc.
You may have to ask them for this. In fact i would sugggest these educational packs are probably available from most major companies.
Go to the "How Things Work" web site. Some of the articles here are very full i.e. not dumbed down.
RE: offshore oil and gas

RE: offshore oil and gas
I am afraid I can't help you, other than by advising you to look at websites of (University) libraries. They may send you requested pages as a PDF file or as a hardcopy by mail(at a cost). For the Angus Mather book, pages of interest are: 101-130 (Oil and Gas Production), 149-180 (Drilling), 181-195) (The Well - Component Parts).
Good luck!
