FIRST FEW STEPS TO S7 PROGRAMMING

(OP)
Where can I get information on the basics of using a siemens s7 plc, without actually taking a course.
I have simatic manager software and a plc to practice on.

RE: FIRST FEW STEPS TO S7 PROGRAMMING

You can search for manuals with this link:
http://www4.ad.siemens.de/-snm-0135030360-1078737597-0000023585-0000000021-1079688503-enm-WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo2&changelang=true&aktprim=99&siteid=cseus&content=skm%2FnewSKM%2Fmain.asp%3Foption%3Dmanual&lang=en
Try "getting started STEP7" or something similar.

I also thoroughly recommend the printed books "Automating with STEP7 in STL and SCL" and "Automating with STEP7 in LAD and FBD" by Hans Berger (can be ordered from Siemens).

RE: FIRST FEW STEPS TO S7 PROGRAMMING

Open Simatic Manager, go over to Help then to Getting Started. At the bottom of the Getting Started help page is
How To Set Up Projects. That's about the easiest way to learn the basics.
