Material Designations - Different ones

(OP)
Being new to the fourm I'm not really sure where to look and the search feature revealed little help.

One of the materials is listed as S355J2G3.  I imagine it is a carbon steel type, I just need to know which code this/these numbers come from so I can cross reference them to US material codes.  Thanks.

Brian
