Making edges black in R2001
Making edges black in R2001
(OP)
Is it possible to render edges black in R2001? Basically, I want the edges of my solid models to be black, while the rest of the model (i.e., surfaces) is the color that I set using the "view/model setup/color and appearance" command.
Also, is it possible to actually show the threads on a surface in the solid model? I usually make my threads cosmetic, which is ok most of the time, but sometimes I'd like the threads to actually show up in the model. The main reason is I'd like to be able to export jpeg's of the solid model that show the threaded surfaces for reports and presentations.
Incidentally, that's also why I'd like edges to be black (for reports and presentations). Exported jpeg's of the solid model look much better if edges are black.
Thanks,
Haf

As for the black edges... Sorry but I don't think there is a way to do it.
Best of luck,

RE: Making edges black in R2001
I am now attempting to add a helical sweep to the part but I am getting errors (I'm no expert with Pro/E). I have a cylinder with OD equal to major diameter. In the sketcher mode I am drawing a line along the cylinder edge for the sweep trajectory (overhanging on the cylinder ends so the sweep doesn't end abruptly) and putting a centerline at the center of the cylinder. I input the pitch and then draw the sweep profile (I'm just using a triangle). When I try to finish I get an error, "could not intersect part with feature."
Any tips?
Thanks,
Haf

As you have drawn the major diameter of the bolt/stud, you should be doing a CUT, also the length of the triangle should not be larger than the pitch.
May I suggest you model the thread parameters properly, it is easier than making them up.
If you have any problems, send me your e-mail address and I can send you a simple threaded component.
