S5-100 hardware configuration

S5-100 hardware configuration

S5-100 hardware configuration

(OP)
Dear Sirs, can anybody explain me, how should I configure hardware of S5-102 PLC? I've got no idea, what absolute addresses should I use in PLC-programm to control real Inputs and Outputs . I use S5 V7.11. Communication is OK. The programm recognize the CPU. But no information about Inputs and Outputs. May be I look in wrong place or hardware is not good? (I bought second hand in ebay, how can I check I/O without program?).
I read manual, but did not find anything helpfull.
Waldemar

RE: S5-100 hardware configuration

wwlederer,

no "configuration" is necessary, the S5-100 series IO gets its adresses from the position of the io modules.
The first module after the CPU will have the adresses I0.0 to I0.7 (or E0.0 to E0.7 with german mnemonics) for an 8 channel digital input module.
an output module would be Q0.0 to Q0.7 (or A0.0 to A0.7).
The next module would be I1.0 to I1.7 and so forth.
I dont remember which adress analog modules would start at, but I think that it is IW32 (or is it IW64 ?) and onwards for a module just after the CPU. I also think that there is a maximum of max 8 analog mdoules, and they have to be placed in the first 8 positions after the CPU.
