3D to 2D

Does anyone have a lisp that creates 3D to 2D?  I used express tools for a while but dont like how you cant control the hidden lines color or type, and it does some funky stuff on circluar objects.

I would use solprof or solview but want something that runs in model space, like express tools flatten does.  I am looking for something that will flatten the solids and puts the geometry on appropiate layers like one for in front, and one for behind (hidden lt)

RE: 3D to 2D

Flattening lines and circles is one thing, flattening solids is another. It sounds like you are trying to get 2D drafting views to output as flat AutoCAD lines. There may be some software to do it, but I have not used any. One thing we have done is to output a plot to file and then convert the plt file to a dxf file. This will give you a flat AutoCAD file but may not be what you want.

I think I heard of that the only thing I think people complain about is losing data such as layers and such.

I am a steel detailing division manager, and I am writing custom software to dispense to my drafters.  I usually create the model, and hand it out.  It seems though it is taking too long for the drafters to take the model, create viewports, use solid profile command, then scale the viewports uniformly.  Then they have to change the funky "PH" and "PV" layer back to our standard.  Yes it only takes a few minutes to do such, but if I can shave a minute or two here and there, I can offer a better priced service to my customer.

So that is what I am looking for.  To take my model and create 2D fast, like the flatten in Express tools, but more accurately.  Any ideas?
