Modeling a Pile Cap in Risa 3D

Modeling a Pile Cap in Risa 3D

(OP)
I am trying to model various pile caps in Risa 3D v5.0b.  There seems to be conflicting information from Risa on what is actually the moment for which I should design the cap reinforcement.

The "Plate Modeling Examples" for modeling a spread footing says to use the graphics display and add up the MZ global corner forces at the face of a pier.  The help file says to take sum of the local plate moments (Mx and My) and add the warping moment (Mxy) to get the total moment per foot on the plate element.

What is the actual moment from the plate model that should be used when designing the reinforcement of a foundation?  Do the plate corner forces take into account the warping moment?  Any tips/comments/concerns folks can offer on modeling foundations in Risa?

Thanks!
