Macro Icons
Macro Icons
(OP)
I was looking to see if anyone new how to assign a icon to a macro and add it to your toolbar in 2004??
When was the last time you drove down the highway without seeing a commercial truck hauling goods?

RE: Macro Icons
Tools\Customize\Toolbar Tab\
Then RMB your existing icon on the macro toolbar (or put a new one there and then RMB), you should be able to figure it out from there.

Could you please tell more about Macros and there uses in SW? I don't too much about macros, but would like to know more, if you have some time.
Thanks,

RE: Macro Icons
Sorry, what I know about macros comes from the SW Help files & what I have read in these posts. In fact most of my replies to other peoples posts are, or have been, gleaned from either the Help or Tutorial files.
I personally have found no overwhelming need for macros, so have not bothered too much with them. Basically anything you do which is repetetive or long-winded can be semi-automated with a macro. Macros can be created by simple recordings of keystrokes or by writing more involved programme language. When I have the need (&/or inclination) I intend to learn about macro, VB & API creation, till then I have to admit my lack of knowledge & hope that the Macro gurus who use this forum will reply to your request.
Suggest you use the Keyword Search tab (top of page)for "Macro" or "API" or "VB" to research other threads. Also check out some of the Links (also top of page) which have examples of macros, etc, which can be downloaded & experimented with.
RE: Macro Icons
Macro's are great for quick little things like that, and even bigger ones. It's all in the eye of the user. Macros can be setup to run from a Hotkey on your keyboard.
They are handy, but I have to admit. I don't them very often, only the one.
Look at other SW people's website. I know there are some people out there that have downloadable macro's. SW Model website has macro's as well.
