Merge Faces

Merge Faces

Merge Faces

(OP)
I have a part that I made with a sweep.  The fist section of this sweep has only two faces, but the rest of the sweep has 6 faces on each section.

Is there away to merge the faces so it looks better, or better yet is there a away to split faces?

I have tried Kniting the surfaces but that does not get rid of the lines separating the faces, which is what I want to do.

RE: Merge Faces

I am not very familiar at working with surfaces but I believe there is an Optimize feature which can be used to smooth or combine adjoining surfaces. Check the Help file for "Optimze" under "Surfaces"

from (the City of) Barrie, Ontario.

If everything is going well, you have obviously overlooked something

RE: Merge Faces

There is no merge faces - It's probably because of the sketches or the sketch end points, that makes the faces look broke up. If it was one sketch then you probably wouldn't see, broke up faces.

Trying using a fit spline or convert the sketches to a Composite Curve.

Thank you Scott.

It was tangency that was causing the problem.  And with a little tweaking of the path sketch it was all fixed.

I am interested in the optimization command but I do not know how to activate it.  Where can I find that command?
