Searching for Bearings with Hex ID

(OP)
So far my internet search has only yeilded www.frantz-mfg.com as a source for these types of bearings.  I am hoping someone out there knows of a few more sources.

RE: Searching for Bearings with Hex ID

Hex bore bearings are frequently used on agricultural equipment.  One manufacturer is Lutco, another is Fafnir.  I'm sure there are others.

Adding a little to strokersix's post.

These bearings are also called implement, disc harrow, conveyer, and so on and are available in all sizes and descriptions with round, hex, and square bores.

This one has all types of bearings

This one has plastic and SS conveyer bearings.

[b]MadMango[/],
I stopped by a friend's fish house this morning and while having a cup of coffee one of the mechanics that works on equipment stopped and showed me a hex bore bearing and wanted to know where to get about 24 "just like it".  Only one problem was that 2 sides were worn and the bore was elongated. Someone had put the bearings on a round shafts.

We are trying the Plastic bearings on a big conveyer.

I managed to find a hex-bore bearing from Torrington.  I'll be useing a 1-1/4 hex bar, 1018.  The problem is finding the bearings in stock now.  At least I know they exist.

RE: Searching for Bearings with Hex ID

The last time I needed a bearing with hex ID, I ended up machining an insert that was broached with a hex profle and pressed into the bearings ID. Not only was this method cost effective, but you also have ample selection of stock bearings to choose from.

Cost effective to a point.

I'd rather just specify the correct item and have it bin-stocked instead of creating a "make-from" item.  But I'll keep this in mind if availability becomes an issue.  Thanks.
