Maximum No. Of Systems from Ring Main Spur

Maximum No. Of Systems from Ring Main Spur

(OP)
Can anyone please advise me if there is a restriction on the number of Fixed Fire Protection Systems (Deluge Waterspray)that can be supplied from a spur off a Yard Ring Main.

I thought there was something in NFPA 850 but I can't find it, my concern is the number of systems that may be isolated simultaneously.

RE: Maximum No. Of Systems from Ring Main Spur

There is nothing that I am aware of that limits the number of systems being supplied by a single lead in.  If I recall correctly, I believe that Factory Mutual recommends no more than 4 risers...but that could be old information.

We typically try to limit to 4 or 6 risers.  Simply because the cost to run overhead bulk piping for any more systems will exceed the cost for an additional lead-in to the building from the underground loop.
