IDEAS pre-stress Modal Analysis

IDEAS pre-stress Modal Analysis

IDEAS pre-stress Modal Analysis

(OP)
Hi,
I have to perform a modal analysis with a static load acting on the modal in IDEAS.
Ansys has the command "prestress on " to do the same, the linear static solution is obtained first with the prestress option ON and than the modal analysis soln is obtained with same option on again.
Does IDEAS has any such option to do the same Analysis,if yess where is the icon what is the proceedure to be followed.

Thanks in advance.

RE: IDEAS pre-stress Modal Analysis

Generally I follow below procedure for modal analysis with some loads.
1.Apply the load/lumped mass.
2.Select Normal mode dynamics(very first icon) for the analysis type.
3.Select loadset and restrain set for boundary condition set creation. select Lanczos method in the BC creation form.
4.Model solution---create soln set
5.Run analysis.
Iam not an analysis expert, but i hope the above answer will help you.
