POINTS NOT DISPLAYED ON DRAWING
POINTS NOT DISPLAYED ON DRAWING
(OP)
I have Points in a sketch that I am showing in a drawing. I want them to print out, but can't seem to find what I need to do for them to show. I have points turned on under the view pull-down menu. I even put points on the drawing itself. It does look like there might be points there, but they are to small to recognize. I also tried a few other things like scaling and looking under options, but thought there must be an easier way. I am running 2004. Anyone come across this?

RE: POINTS NOT DISPLAYED ON DRAWING
The points are in a sketch, and the sketch is in a part that I have inserted into a drawing. I have turned the sketch on in a view. As an experiment to get the points to print I tried putting them on the drawing also. I actually made them coincident to the points from my sketch that I turned on. nothing seems to work. I could manually draw a point, but feel there has to be a better solution. The points show on the screen, but can't get them to print.
RE: POINTS NOT DISPLAYED ON DRAWING
Strangely enough the points show & print whether I have the "View Points" set to on or off???

RE: POINTS NOT DISPLAYED ON DRAWING
if u know autocad ,
try to save as .dwg format. open the drawing in autocad. in autocad u can change the point style. ( the command is DDPTYPE).select which point style u want.
then try to take print this autocad drawing.rightnow in my system, i don't have autocad. i haven't tried this.
i don't know this will work or not. check this.

RE: POINTS NOT DISPLAYED ON DRAWING
Not questioning the interest of showing points in a printed drawing, I think that is not the correct representation of what you need. There isn't such thing as point representing points in drawings, because they have no dimension (in theory). When we need to do this, we normaly use center marks/construction lines, the intersection of them being the intended point (a typical case is the theoretical center of holes).
So I think the best way is to draw construction lines (one horizontal and one vertical)that are constrained to intersect in the given point. You can add dimensions and annotations as needed. That will define your points beyond any doubt.
