Temp/pressure testing HP Butt weld valves

Temp/pressure testing HP Butt weld valves

Thread 408-21669 attempts to answer some questions on basic testing on this subject, however I have a high pressure application together with low temp testing. I am looking for a supplier of what I believe to be a clamping method to retain the test flanges. Images I have seen for high pressure low temp valves appear to utilise this method, but I cannot find any suppliers or sources of information. There is obviously something other than the Butt weld to secure the clamp but again no info.
Implications of low temperatures mean 'o' rings are eliminated too.
Is there anyone out there with experience in this area?

RE: Temp/pressure testing HP Butt weld valves

What do you mean by high pressure and low temperature? A clear idea of those terms is necessary to reply fully.

RE: Temp/pressure testing HP Butt weld valves

Please take also a look to Thread408-82258 within this Forum. I don't know if that is the same problem as the one Burdy is facing, bu maybe it's quite similar...

Hope this helps,      'NGL

I’ve seen flange clamps also but can find my literature.

A little different approach.  You might want to give these people a call.

Sorry not to have responded earlier but total Hard drive loss caused rather a large problem.
By low temp I mean -196 and high pressure is 1450psi or 100 barg.
The problem we have with plugs is that o-rings tend to be the sealing method.
I would imagine testing at high temperatures will have much the same problem.

Ohh and the pipe can be anything from 4" to 36".
