Need info about plastic limit device

(OP)
I am trying to find out the reliability of the Plastic Limit Rolling Device. It is referenced in the AASHTO testing form, TxDOT Manual of Testing Procedures, Section 7 Tex-105-E and ASTM D4318-00. Has anyone used this device? What is its accuracy? Any other comments are appreciated.

Thanks.

RE: Need info about plastic limit device

I own two of them.  They're pretty good, but do wear out with time since they are made of Plexiglas.

Accurate?  They only help you roll the thread to a consistent thickness - so the technician's judgment still applies...
