Mouse scroll wheel & zoom direction

Mouse scroll wheel & zoom direction

(OP)
Anyone know of a way to make the scroll wheel zoom the other way in SW2004?  In SW as you roll the wheel back toward you the part gets closer, as you roll the wheel away from you the part gets further away.  This would be fine but after the last few years on ACAD which scrolls exactly opposite, it gets a little annoying to the guys who are just switching to SW. I'm just trying to make the transition as easy as possible for everyone. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
mncad

RE: Mouse scroll wheel & zoom direction

mncad,

No help, but just some rather comical information.

ADsks...Inventer, scrolls the same as SWX using the wheel...you would think that 2 programs from the same company would scroll the same.

Yes,
SWX, ProE (WildFire), Inventor, and SolidEdge ALL zoom the same way using the mouse wheel.

Acad is the only backwards one.

RE: Mouse scroll wheel & zoom direction

Any way you can reprogram all pan, zoom , rotate functions to use other buttons?

I hve three buttons, don't want the center one to do TWO things anymore. Any suggestions?

Arlin seems to have a point, majority rules!!!!  You seem to be the odd one out.

Seriously though, isn't this a lot of effort just to avoid a simple reprogramming of an old habit?  Or are you still using brand A as well? In which case, does it have a way to reprogram the zoom wheel?

I don't know about Mncad, but I still use the other software and have one backwards drives me nuts...

Hmm.... yes, I guess it would!!  Have you considered getting one of the 3D pointer devices like SpaceBall or the newer less expensive "puck" type?  They are pretty cool and would solve your problem immediately.

Does Solidworks support other input devices? I didn't see anything in the online help about this...
