Bond strength to SS, 301 vs 304

Bond strength to SS, 301 vs 304

(OP)
Could anyone offer an explanation for why the bond strength of an adhesive would be significantly less to 301 SS then to 304 SS, with all other factors equal?

RE: Bond strength to SS, 301 vs 304

I cannot provide an explanation that seems plausible.  301 in the same product form as 304 will have more martensite, and hence higher strength, but I cannot imagine that this signficantly affects adhesive bonding strength.
