NX2 label problem
NX2 label problem
(OP)
I havn't used NX2 much for drafting yet, and have run into a little problem.
When I try to create a label pointing to something on the drawing, I am unable to get the usual leader line. Instead the annotation editor is giving me the note I want but tied to a GD&T leader. If I place the note on the drawing and slide the mouse over it, it is recognized as GD&T.
My annotation preferences seem to be correctly set. How do I get an old fashioned note/leader?

RE: NX2 label problem
I just ran into this myself. NX2 is different in this regard.
To create a leader, enter the text in your annotation editor, as usual. Then drag your cursor over the element you want the leader to point to. You can select multiple elements by dragging the cursor across multiple elements before clicking in one spot to place the text.
If this is not clear, please let me know, as it is not intuitive!

RE: NX2 label problem
Thanks for your response. I am able to place a note with a leader, it's just that instead of an arrowhead at the end of the leader, I get the inverted filled triangle of 1994 GD&T annotation.
I also can not swing the leader anywhere I want radially, only normal to the anchor point, again a GD&T thing.
As I posted before, all of my annotation preferences appear to be correct. When I try to edit the preferences of the resuling label, they are already set to what I am trying to create. Hopefully someone out there has a solution to this problem.
RE: NX2 label problem
If the toolbar is not there, while the Annotion Editor is open, RMB in the "docked" toolbar area, and choose customize, make sure Annotation Placement is on.
As for why it defaults to GD&T leader, I do not know...
