Solid Cone Spray Nozzle
Solid Cone Spray Nozzle
(OP)
Dear All,
I am looking for help with a solid cone type water sprayer design. My requirement is as follows:
Medium: Water
Flow: 5 m3/hr
Pressure: 3~4 kg/cm2G
I wish to fabricate a suitable sprayer nozzle for this application. Please help with a suitable picture, dimensions, and principles of operation of sprayer in general.

RE: Solid Cone Spray Nozzle
Spray nozzle suppliers such as Spraying Systems and possibly Delavan probably already have what you want.
Their standard literature will also provide some of the information you require.
It is possibly cheaper to buy than make in your case.

I am not able to locate any of the suppliers that you have indicated. And I wanted to do this bit of tinkering to try something simple. But I understand that the whole thing can become a bit messy... Thanks for your guidance anyway.
Any other ideas to share anyone please.

RE: Solid Cone Spray Nozzle
To get your started, the old Spraying Systems ceramic fulljet nozzle may be a good place to start for a performance estimate although you can make it out of whatever you like.
The nozzle number 15616-1.25H- 10 delivers 16.5 USGPM at 20 psi, 23 at 40 and 27 at 60 psi. The spray angle is 67 degrees at 20 psi and reduced to 61 degrees at 60 psi.
The orifice size is 25/64", thread connection is 1.25" NPTF and the body length is 3+13/16". Overall body diameter is 2+3/32" The body cavity is about 1" diameter and contains two crossed spin vanes, at an angle I would guess of 60 degrees to the body axis. The orifice thickness looks to be about the same as its diameter.

Thanks for your prompt repsonse. I shall go throught the details suggested by you and do some maths/ design to suit my application. I shall try to update this post.
However, if I dont do that then just think that i ended up buying a spray nozzle!
Btw, I am just getting a bit involved in the physics of liquid sprayers... I know I should be off this, but cant help jogging my grey cells.. If possible please dotell me where I could find some "elementary treatment" on the subject of liquid spraying etc..
